In Hancock, Will Smith plays a drunken, numbed out superhero that has a history of causing havoc in public. Hancock needs to clean up his act if he's to have any chance of winning over the hostile public.
He meets Ray, A PR guy in need of a project to work on. Ray (played by Jason Bateman) helps him clean up his act and restore his reputation as a superhero. Ray is blissfully unaware that his wife Mary (played by Charlize Theron), posses the same strength and abilities as Hancock.
As far as superhero movies go, Hancock is a refreshing take on a tried medium. Even though Hancock is a superhero, there's a very human side to him.
I didn't have high expectations for this movie based on the trailers, but to that end, the movie actually performed admirably. I certainly don't have any impulses to see it again, but it did entertain me for 90 minutes and change.
