In addition to Golden Axe, I also purchased Golden Axe II and Shinobi III on Steam. I wasn't interested in spending a lot of money, and these were the games that seemed to interest me the most, so that's why I picked them up. Naturally, I will be talking about Shinobi III a little later, but I figured I would mention Golden Axe II as I've been playing it a bit.
Axe II is much like the original game in concept: It's a side-scrolling beat 'em up style game. Essentially, it's a natural extension of the original, and picks up where that one left off.
However, the controls do feel a lot smoother, and the graphics have also improved. Clearly, Axe II has a few more coats of polish on it compared to the original.
Other than that, there isn't much to say. I will have to spend some more time with this game to give it a proper review.
