Since I've talked at length about adventure games as of late, I might as well touch on Journeyman Project 3: Legacy of Time as well. To be honest, it has been quite awhile since I've played this game so I'm not sure how much I remember. I still have fond memories of it though.
In fact, my friend and I still quote characters from this game from time to time, especially Arthur. I'm pretty sure there are those who criticized the Arthur character, but I thought he was awesome. Sometimes it was worth it just to keep asking for clues to see what kind of ridiculous things he would say. It was also nice to have a built-in hint system, just in case you got stuck.
The game has a bit of a Sci-Fi plotline, but it's basically a puzzle/adventure game in the style of Myst or Riven. The main difference is that you have more interactions with in-game characters. Although the game uses a time traveling device, it's basically like "linking to other Ages" as in Myst.
