I guess I'm a bit of a sucker for ninja games. The Ninja Gaiden series is classic, albeit extremely difficult, and nearly impossible at times. I remember seeing Shinobi on TV and at video game stores as a kid, but was never able to play it before, as I never had a Genesis growing up. Hopefully this isn't coming across as some kind of sob story though, because it's not like I didn't have a Famicom and Super Famicom growing up. But I digress. What I'm trying to say is that I wanted to give this game a try, because I'd never played it before.
I certainly haven't had the chance to play it extensively, but what little I've played of it has been a lot of fun. It feels fast-paced and action-packed.
Unlike many games from the time, there's a lot of movement on-screen, which feels a little distracting at first, but once you get used to it, it adds a bit of realism and visual interest to the game. I will certainly be coming back to this game on another occasion.
