Have you had the chance to check out the upcoming indie games on Nintendo eShop yet? You should definitely check them out.
I’d like to summarize some of IGN’s top picks. You can check out their video here too, if you want.
Shovel Knight is a Castlevania/Mega Man style game, and I would love to give it a go. According to IGN, it has a great soundtrack too. A good soundtracks can definitely make a game.
This game is all about collecting treasures. It is similar to Sonic in that, whenever you get hit, you lose some of the things you’ve collected. I’m not as interested in this game as I am in Shovel Knight, but it still looks pretty cool.
Moon Chornicles is a first-person shooter for the 3DS. It looks a lot like other prevalent FPS games.
This is a platformer style game in which many map pieces move, break, and fall apart. Like Super Meat Boy, it looks punishingly hard. It’s sort of looks like the worst platforming parts of Contra and Mega Man combined.
Retro City Rampage: DX
Retro City Rampage: DX is a top-down Grand Theft Auto style game with plenty of 80s games references. This is another game I would love to check out.
This is an action-platformer set in Japan. According to IGN, it’s a bit like God of War but only more simplistic. It has some really neat-looking stylized graphics.
Siesta Fiesta is a scrolling brick-breaker type game. It seems a little weird, but I would give it a try.
